Which 6.5" Components? RF T1652-S / POLK MM6501 / INFINITY KAPPA60.9CS

Pretend that I don't have a subwoofer in my setup.

I've got a Eclipse 125Wx4@4ohm / 175Wx4@2ohm amp.

I'm looking for opinions on which set of components will give me the best bass from the front doors that will sound almost as if I did have a sub.

1 - Rockford Fosgate Power T1652-S 6.5" 2-way component system

2 - Polk Audio MM6501 6.5" 2-way component system

3 - Infinity Kappa 60.9cs 6.5" 2-way component system

I've partially eliminated the Infinity set because I hear the tweeters are pretty big, and I don't like the idea of them being so large because of where I plan to mount them, but if the bass is better than the rest, I might have to work that into the plan.

Which would best fit the bill?

Also what crossover point would you suggest for such wattage?

Im not a fan of rockford so I dont know about those

I ran the Polk MM6500, they might be a lower model than the MM6501 but I was not impressed with the midbass on them at all...maybe it was just my install but I seem to get a whole lot more midbass from my reference level infinity 6x9 3 ways. I took the polks out and put my 6x9s back in because they werent loud enough.

Personally I love the infinity line when it comes to speakers. I hope I still feel the same way when I buy the kappa perfect 6.5"s

I've heard Kappas both in stores and in a friend's car. He agreed with me in that he thought they were a little too top-heavy, tinny sounding for a high end speaker. Never heard RFs, but from their specs/reviews, they seem to be a little overpriced IMO.

As a matter of fact, the Polk MM6501 speakers are going to be my next car audio purchase based on their positive reviews and supposed "warm" sound (and impressive power handling). So that would obviously be my vote. If you go with them, make sure to post a reply or write a review!

Just took a quick look at those links and the manufacturer websites.

I've heard of both before but haven't considered either, cause I'm what most people call an SQL guy and I figured those two were higher end SQ brands not up my alley.

More options to think about...

Hertz had their T/S info published so I could plug it into WinISD and see their calculated frequency response at their rated RMS wattage.
