new xbox360 slim w/kinect is a way better experience out of the box than the first release 360. it's typical pattern. hardware rush firts, then years of making the software catch up. think about it, we have been stuck at the same processor speeds for a decade. sony also went way above and beyond on hardware. nintendo has always been buisness retarded. i call it the "ford effect" (in short, ford did not believe costumers should have, or want options, like wipers, colors, lights. this nearly killed the company because chevrolet did) ford, nintendo, apple have only survived with contractual work, and sheer dumb luck. i plan on my kinect and ps3 to continue advancing via software. in some years, when the software finally catches up, i plan on another hardware rush cycle. nintendo has already had the need to advance hardware to keep up, and i'm sure there will be a new console in the next 2 years, if they wish to survive with the other 2. really, if licensing would allot the appropriate firmware emulation, none would fair well, because pc would be the way to have it all. just enjoy your free software advancements and use your gaming pc for more
