I would not suggest a h.o. alt for 80 amps of draw unless for some reason the voltage was dropping largly and even then i would look into other things first. Such as big three ,good connections, and that the battery is in good shape.The rule of thumb that your combined amplifier current draw is no more than 125% your alts peak output. Thats from the mecp installer guide. Fairly conservative figure imo. I'm drawing over 200% my alts peak output and have been for the last 6 months with no problems.  I am running an hc2400 under the hood, which helps greatly.</blockquote>
