[QUOTE="mat3833, post: 6058137, member: 587645"] make a "pop" sound?? noob question but ive never blown a speaker or heard one go.... well actually the factory door speakers in my NB (4 inch "bass" speakers) started ratteling really bad so i figured they were toast. story: changing my brake pads today and i had the radio on. not loud or anything, maby 7-8 on a 35 headunit as a comparison. well i finished the job and went to bed the brakes in. got in the car, started it, and went to leave. turned up the radio a bit, maby to 15, and i heard a "pop" and the sub stopped working. i dont have the stomach to take it out and look at the coil as the sub is only like 6 months old and 4 of those months were spent not being used due to a lack of an amp. any help?? if you need pics to tell ill get some. im thinking it was the amp, it seemed on its last leg anyways.
