I'm in the process of upgrading the enclosure in my girlfriend's car. I only got to taking out the box tonight and at the moment there's a loose amp in the trunk that's wired up. It also has a pair of speaker wires coming off it. She needs if for school tomorrow, so I want to disable it for the day. It was secured to the box, but without the box it's loose. I ran it loose once before and it must've moved when she was driving because I found the power wire has come loose, burned at the tip, and blew the fuse between the amp and battery.
Is there a better, safer way of disabling the remnants of the system than pulling the fuse from between the battery and amp and taking the amp out of the trunk so it doesn't move around?
In the future, if the amp was secured properly, what would be the simplest way to disable it?
