I'm talking lower end knives i get most of my purpose knives custom made. Like all of my skinning knives.
for lower end I would go with spyderco they can be had for very little all the way to very costly but they all come razor sharp and have excellent edge retention I have one thats my EDC as does my wife.

I got a leatherman fuse and didnt think Id ever really use it. I started putting it on my belt, and really theres hardly ever a day that I dont use it.

Leatherman FTW

when i saw this thread i realized i have been carrying the same set of gerber pocket pliers for about 14 years now.their is rarely a day when i do not use them for something. i generally carry a pocket knife in my pocket and the pliers on my belt. when it comes to pocket knives i have two words for you. 'tool steel'. look at benchmade, queen, etc.

this is similar to mine.
