What would you recomend in my situation?

I have 2 Alpine Type S 6x9 in the back of my car. One is slightly blown. I am looking to go out and purchase another pair to replace atleast one of the speakers. I am looking for something with the same characteristics...but im not sure how those speakers rate for the price. Is there anything out there as good cheaper??? or should I just get a new 2006 model Alpine type S? My system is in my signature

i would go with the pioneer tsd-690r's, the rev series. you can find a pair on the internet for good prices, and they are a great coaxial.

it think it would be better and easier to just replace both of them rather than try to find one type s anyway, plus the rev is a great speaker.

I searched really quick for those Speakers. There isn't alot of info about em. I can't even find em on ebay...? Where else besides Pioneers website?

Here's an idea.

Same yourself some money and take out the other working one and ditch the rear-fill totally.

Rear-fill, especially 6x9's are the devil -- to me at least.

^ only good 6x9 setup i heard is in a stock 01 monte carlo. [shrug] and that may be due mostly to the fronts or cabinshape.

as above, I'd ditch the footballs, and upgrade your midbass around the front.

Ive heard about that...but You know what my car is very balanced sound wise. I like the setup I have now and am trying to find replacement speakers. Not to mention i got 162k on this car...dont know how much longer its gonna last ya know?
