What would you rather have in your wall?

Well, I'm getting $3000 next summer, and I want to know what I want long in advance. I think that $3000 might be enough for 3-4 18s in a wall with the electric to match them.
dude... there will be new shit a year from now, the shit you pick out now may be GONE by the time you get around to it

I am a believer in the power of DDs.

subs don't have power //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

and its all install anyways, there is a guy on here with 6 35$ subs and a 330$ amp who is knockin on 150db door

For that much, you can do way better than 3-4 18s.
That's where people go wrong. Don't know about this guy, but I'm much more impressed with a few woofers setup right and being louder than people that feel they need to cram as many woofers as they can in the same space.

Just my .02 cents.

that's true, but 3-4 18's in the right enclosure powered properly will crap on the other set ups. For a daily driver set up that will demo for 10-15 minutes at a time I'll take cone area all day long, assuming you have to room to fit them in the right enclosure...

That's ethical, but I still rather setups with like 4 18's or 6 15s and put them in max space and throw the power to them. A ton of low VAS woofers bandpassed or clamshelled is not my kinda deal. Cancellation sucks. Although its a time tested fact that its louder on the mic. I still don't like it. I don't know though. I'm in the same boat as the OP with what to do. Although I have about 25 cubes to play with. I want to go for some monster 18s on a shit ton of power. Preferably 4 LMS ultras in a rear loading horn firing behind my head.

You will be getting slapped like 30-40 times per second. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif
