What would you do, advise for a "friend"

So a "friend" got screwed out of $900 from a dog breeder back in July 10. Breeder lives in KY, near Cinncinatti, friend lives on the West coast. Guy was suppose to have the pup flown out but was always too hot and he didn't want to drive to another airport 2hrs away to get a airline that had a/c in the cargo bay. Breeder never got pup to "friend" or money back.

Now "friend" has class he has to attend near Cinncinatti, about an hour away from where money was sent, via Money Order BTW. Should "friend" drive up and confront breeder and try to get some money or something back or just get a little "payback" on breeder and never know he was there?

of course he should go talk to him.

Keep a recorder in the pocket to document the conversation in case you have to get the cops involved. If threes no receipt then you will have some evidence based on what he says.

"getting back" is never the answer and typically only brings more issues to the table.

Arrange a meeting and record the outcome. Not for us here, but for a legal situation. Get him to admit to selling a pup and never sending it to the buyer. That will generate enough evidence to peruse this in court if needed. I would suggest looking up his local lays on recording conversations or meetings. Some states prohibit those actions with out consent from both parties. However, if you meet in a public place if some one just happens to be recording in the area it is fair game no matter what.

I am fairly certain this would be considered a federal case. However, I am not 100% sure on that.

He gave me the run around and didn't want to go to another airport. The airline wouldn't take the pup and fly her since it was too hot where he was and way to hot where I am. So I either would have had to wait months for it to hopefully cooldown, which it doesn't until Oct/Nov, or HE needed to take the pup to another airport that flew with an a/c cargo bay. Going to PHX wouldn't have done any better either since its just as hot.....

And its been damn near 2 years, like i haven't tried calling him. He doesn't answer his phone shit for brains. I was also deployed for 6 months when I was originally to take him to court.
