What video files play on Pioneer AVH-P3300?

I've got both MKV and AVI on my SD and I can't get either to play. The AVI plays sound but no video, doesn't even recognize MKV. I've got the bypass installed as well.

Guess I thought DivX was MKV, though WMA is for audio only. It won't play the WMV files I have and again only audio of AVI. So I need it to be a .DIVX file correct?

Whats a good free or cheap converter for it? Looks like Divx Plus only converts to MKV and you need to buy Pro to convert to divx.

TBH, I only watch dvd's on it and don't convert movie files that often.
