What to Power My ID v.3 and CDT Brax's?

I'm currently running a hifonics Merlin Amp at 2 ohms, giving my 12" ID sub 300 watts. As well as running a Hifonics Falcon amp giving my CDT-CL Brax's 90 watts a piece. Basically after reading a lot of reviews on here about the Hifonics amps, and my own personal experience with them, I'm looking for a two new amps.

It's my understanding that the ID v.3 can take a helluva lot more power than 250w RMS, so whatever you fellas feel will get the job done, I'm open to. I certainly want to hear that sucker.

For the cdt comps, I'm open to suggestions, as I really don't know much about what to look for in the way of crossovers and stuff for comp amps.

I'd like to spend less than 200 new/used/refurb on each amp. Or 300-400 on a nice 5 channel, incase I decide to expand later on. I've been taking a look at such companies, as viper, memphis, crossfire, directed, ppi, orion, and the likes.

I'm just looking to get some suggestions and commentary of whatever amps you fellas think will get the job done.

Thanks,

Chris

All of the companies you have mentioned are solid.. I have seen a few cars first hand with the Directed 1200/5 and they sounded real nice. You can get that amp for 370 + shipping from Ikesound.com which is a Directed Authorized Internet Retailer (You get a Warranty)..

One question about the 5 channels. Is it possible to run channels 1-4 at 4 ohm and the sub channel at 2 ohm? Or do all of them have run the same impendance?

Thanks,

Chris

I've noticed on a lot of 5 channel amps that there are only 2 RCA inputs, front and rear. How does that work with the sub preamp output on my head unit?
It doesn't //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif As mentioned, it takes the signal from the rear inputs and uses that for the sub channel as well.

How about an xtant x603 or 603x? they're 75x2 at 4 ohms + 300x1 at 2ohms, and they have some kind of passive rear channels that dont have any independant controls, but they can be attenuated with various resistor packs.
