What to look for when buying a DMM?

Well i figured out how to measure what my battery charge is. but how do i measure ohms?? when i turn it to ohms and measure a speaker is stays at 0? I was testing it on a Ascendant audio poly mid and it still says 0.

change it to the lowest Ohm setting. usually like 0-200. Also make sure you have the prongs pluged into the correct spots.

ahhh i had it on 200 thats why. what else is a handy thing that a dmm does related to car audio?

The better ones can measure inductance and capacitance, though not as good as a dedicated meter for that sort of thing...temperature probes, all sorts of fancy stuff that depends on your meter.

The cool thing about a DMM is that it works on both high and low impedance circuits where the classic VOM is really only useful on low impedance ones...and requires shunt resistors to read amperage //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
