What to get?

Alright, i got around 250-400 to buy a new head unit (yes i know its a large range) but, I keep hearing that Eclipse, Kenwood, Pioneer and old Alpines are all great head units. But im lookin for somethin half simple to function.

Something that will control all door speakers, subs, good eq, and just an all around head unit. I dont know a whole lot about head units and stuff, i just read my manual and learn how to use it and what not. But if you guys could lead me in a good direction, that would be great. (just throw me some good head units)

Have you considered Nakamichi? the 500 seems to fall within that range only thing is if your looking for fancy color schemes and dancing dolphins/para-troopers...you probably don't want to look at Nak then.
