What to get to hit 150db?

I've got Mercedes ML and looking for new audio.

Money restrain at about 1500-2000 bucks.

What would you recommend to hit 150db? thanks

he's right, you probably wont do it unless you can build the box and install it all yourself. do you have any gear alreayd?

another good point. benz's are inherently well insulated, trunks isolated from the cabin.

I have an ML which is SUV. So it should be alright..

and I'm only looking for gear(drivers etc.)

I know a guy who is car audio specialist and also there are many car audio garages here. But the gear is way too overpriced over here.

well with an suv, maybe... but still gonna be tough with that much to work with, and still paying osmeone to install it for you. take your time, and do your research, think long and hard before spending that dough.

are you talking peaking 150's with a high tuned spl box or 150's on music? i could maybe see it if you were only competing. i spent about 3.5k on my setup with 2 15's and i was barely touching 150's with a 32 hz daily tune. thats including batteries, alternator, wiring, sound deadener, and all that. i installed everything myself, and built my own box.

it was too much though, and i'm in the process of rebuilding with one 18, going more for sound quality this time. dont need to be that ****ed loud.

I am no SPL guy so all these spl guys know way more about getting to 150db than I do. So all you SPL guys what if he ran something like this:

4 x 15" TC-2000 and US Amps XT series- Where would that get him.

I would think if you called TC Sound you could get 4 15's for about a 1000.00 and it would appear to get enough power you would need about another 1500.00.

Do not take anything I throw out to get you to 150db because the SPL guys are way smarter on this than me.

plan on 145 on term lab and if you get there be happy. 150 on music is just fricken loud. my budyys van with 4 15's only does 146.5 and that is down right upcerdly loud so mid 140's is plenty good dude.

Getting to 150 isn't cheap. Especially if your trying to get there on music.
