I've never been a fan of mis-matched subs but right now im sitting on a set of 10" alpine Type-Rs (in the truck now) and a set of 10" alpine Type-Xs (on the kitchen table) should I just through all 4 in the truck and call it a day?

Thanks in advance

NO! It's not about being a fan or not... It's about the woofers acting completely different and you'll get sound cancellations and horrible sound likely. NO.

Now that I know Im not going to be putting them all in my truck Im deff. going with the type-Xs... What should I be looking to gain (DB wise) If I power them correctly.

The Rs SWR-1042D 500RMS

The Xs SWX-1042D 1000RMS

Amp Memphis MoJo 2500 Class D

Thanks

Yeah both have the newer ribbed surround.

Sorry I was on my phone B4 and couldn't elaborate. I know gain in DB depends on a few diff. things. So let me give a short run down. I have a ported box about 1.0 to 1.3 cu ft each sub tuned around 34 htz... I have the MoJo 2500 and I plan on running it all @ 2ohm (Daily driver).... Im not looking for someone to tell me "oh you should hit 110db" Im just wondering if I should see a gain of 2 or 3... or something crazy like 7

for the record Im new to DB rating and box tuning so if Im way off plz let me know.

Thanks guys

...looks like if you give them all 500 rms you should have no problems

well I'd hope your over 110 dB, I think I can fart louder than that ha. If you are going for loud I would sell the Type X's and pick up 2 more R's and have some extra cash left over.

Put it in a 4 +/- cubic foot ported box. Should be plenty loud, IDK if your amp is stable at 0.5ohms though, so you might have to run a 2ohms, assuming they are dual 4ohm subs

there is some guy on here doing 150+ dB on music on 4 10" type R's...but with like 4Kw

Are the Xs more for SQ??
yep but imo i think they still get pretty **** loud. But if you want loud do what that guy said and sell the type x's and and get 2 more type r's....you have enough power for it

i say the type x's should bang....in the right box with right amp no doubt

2000rms over 1000 and should be way loud...may not hit all levels of freqencies(10's)

If I could get my hands on 12" Xs could I get all the boom and hit all levels?

Should I get another mojo? Its rated 1250w @ 2ohm. each sub can take 1000rms and I think Im going to push these bad boys

Thanks

This guy doesn't know what he is talking about....there is no reason that the 10" wont be able to play all frequencies.

X's are more SQ oriented and are known to play very low, while the R's are more SPL oriented but sound fine to the casual listener. I just prefer the R's cause you can get them so cheap
