Does this make sense why it isn't loud? Get a head unit with 4v RCA outs and start over. Toss that 2v head unit in the river... ok not the river, just the trash.
STOP! 1. The head unit IS the problem first and foremost. 2v RCA's isn't going to cut it and as Jeffdachef said, you are at like 60% volume... you might be lucky to be getting a hair over 1v out of your RCA's. 2v HU - 650wrms amp - Sub @2ohms <--- This is what you are doing... To get 650w rms out of that amp @2ohms it will need to output at the terminals 36v. If the gain on the amp goes theoretically from 1 - 10, 10 being the max gain undistorted, your amp would need to be at 18 to hit 36v @ 2ohms at the speaker terminals with 2v of input on the amp at the RCA inputs. If your head unit volume is at 25 of 30 something, you're not even close to the 2v the head unit has to send. Let us say you are lucky to be sending 1.3v to the amp. Your amp gain would have to be at like 27!! If you have a head unit with 4vrms RCA outs then your gain on that amp will only need to be at 9 with the 2 ohm sub. If it was a 1ohm load the gain on the amp would only need to see just over 6. I am going to guess that they way you have it set up with your head unit volume at like 25 that if the gain is set correctly you may be getting 150ish watts on a sign wave to that sub at 2 ohms and I am willing to bet around 90 - 100w on music. Does this make sense why it isn't loud? Get a head unit with 4v RCA outs and start over. Toss that 2v head unit in the river... ok not the river, just the trash.
