what it means when a coil reads high?

sounds like you may have a damaged coil for the impedance to rise 1ohm, can you see the coil how does it look and are you testing at the subs terminals or through the wire to the sub?

you turned the gain up a bit too high and then you turned the volume way up and the moofer was like

terminals.

i looked at the top part of the coil and it looked a little black, ill try and get a pic to show you what im talking about

yea recone time....ill buy it from ya blown tho...im lookin for another LVL 4 motor.

a couple tenths change is ok....anything over like .3 change isnt good.

but for real PM me if you wanna sale it blown

If one coil was beginning to cook a little, the exessive heat may have altered the properties of that section of the circut, resulting in a little extra resistance.

if the sub is brand new and reading like that it's workmanship.

and it's supposed to be a d2, ya you might be able to play with it until you get a recone but there is something wrong even if it is supposed to be d4 still not close to right
