I looked at death this way. I've faced it 4 or 5 times now in the past 13 years and came damn close a couple times with my survival rate at under 5% each time. I also can't swim but that didn't stop me from going Jet Skiing, Water Skiing on one Ski, boating, knee-boarding, wake boarding, surfing and a ton of other stuff. I figured screw it if I die I died while having fun that is what matters.

Hell I used to run into burning buildings that were fully engulfed to do search & rescue before we would hit the structure with any water to get people out. Once again willing to give up my life so that someone else especially if it was a child to have a future. I would still be doing it if not for the damn medical issues. I knew that when I signed up and was prepared for it.
