If there was something with say a 90+% death rate which would threaten human existence, I think it’s safe to say we all could agree to skip testing and take a jab as you gonna probably die anyway . With covid though, this was far from the case. With a vaccine available or not, every virus mutates and for the most part they become weaker but more contagious. Why? Cause it doesn’t want to kill you, it wants to survive and that mutation is part of its survival. Pretty amazing how it works. The vaccine imo should have only been offered to those who are 65 years and older or had pre existing medical conditions that made them more susceptible to major sickness or death. Mandating it for everyone was just ridiculous, especially considering the vaccine doesn’t prevent you from getting it. This is the million dollar question, why did they push it so hard? Common sense tells me it was a money thing. I just can’t wait for more time to pass cause I truly feel with time we are gonna find out.

I was against mandates. I think pushing it was more of a political/culture war thing than a money thing. IIRC the gov't committed to buying X amount of vaccine up front, so Pfizer, Moderna, etc were going to get their money whether the vaccines got used or not. There may have been some self-interest on Biden's part; the sooner we get out of the pandemic, the better his chances of re-election.

I know exactly what a vaccine is for, my point was why be forced to take something that doesn’t prevent catching or spreading it? If I want to take a chance with my life getting a glorified cold, that’s my business. So why mandate it?

Go talk to a human who actually worked in a hospital during the height of infection. Ask them how much of a "glorified cold" it was. Easy to tell you were 100% removed from what was actually going on.
