I will put it this way, my doctors trust me so much when I say I need this surgery or this for this problem they don't even question it. Why? Simple former EMT with a ton of medical training, sitting in on a bunch of surgeries before being an EMT, doing research before I go into said doctor's office. After 117 surgeries I know what is going on at this point and what helps. Hence why they don't even question it anymore as they always say when they come out of surgery and talk to my parents "He was right again this was torn, this part was torn, this muscle had this injury" and so on and so on.

Part of the reason some of the nurses don't like me is because I don't take their crap one bit. These new nurses the last 15-20 years are taught in schooling they are in control with regards to patients that don't let a patient question you. Well I don't let them pull that crap one bit to the point now a couple of them say I am a "problem patient". No actually I am someone who if you are nice to me and when you try to "TELL ME" it is going to be this way or that way then we have a problem. They seem to forget the PATIENT is in control of their medical decisions and what happens. Once you dare to question them that is when they get pissy and start to say stuff like "he is a problem patient and very hard to deal with" even my doctors have told them they can't act like that towards anyone but they still do because they are trained that way from day one.

Buck actually does know his stuff with regards to his disabilities and what works for treatment. Spend a lot of time with him on the phone talking about this stuff with him. Just because he searches, questions some medical research doesn't mean he is crazy or he might believe what that link says. He is just researching, questioning it. Just taking what some medical people say on face value is stupid. Got enough training and background as that was one of the first things I was taught. Don't always believe what the medical community is putting out there. As they are about money first and foremost just like pharmaceutical companies. Tons of drugs are legal in the Europe or other places that have been vetted for years but unless the FDA and the companies here can find a way to make money on it or if it is a better drug then what is here they will fight it tooth and nail so they can continue to rake in money on a older drug even if it is less efficient.

That is very believable, but would they let you stand in on a surgery or call you for a consult if they ran into something weird?
The suggestion in previous posts is that there is no reason an expert in one field isn't also an expert in another field, without any formal training or education in the other field. That's an odd thought process.

I used to stand in on surgeries for training all the time during my EMT training. It is standard practice for any training.

And yes my doctors have said there is no other knees in the world like mine as it is from one of the rarest syndromes known to man. So yes I have been asked by my doctors before if I ran into this or that with my issues and how did I deal with it.

If I wanted to sit in on a surgery my Orthopedic Doctor wouldn't have one issue with it. And he is rated as one of the top 50 Orthopedics in the country. I told him if I ever do knee replacements I want to sit in via another room to watch and he said "no problem, you know what to expect and see when surgery happens". I also request at the very least pictures from every surgery so I can study them afterwords of what happened so I can recognize what they fixed or saw or if they missed something which hasn't happened but I like to be thorough with this stuff. Couple times they gave me video. I have half a file cabinet just in surgery pictures at my parents house that I have kept over the years.

The very vast majority of stuff he posts is easily discredited with simple research, of the facts and of the sources themselves. Yes his sources COULD be sharing legitimate facts, but any time a source is know for providing disinformation, ANYHTING they say becomes suspect and should be given due diligence.
Believing something simply because you want it to be true is just silly. Repeating something that is not true so that other gullible people will believe it is plain shitty.

Nobody is forcing anyone to believe what Buck post and I agree that if what he post intrigues one such then they should do some research themselves. Free will is a wonderful thing.

That is certainly not what I suggested. In fact I said you don't know what kind of background they do or don't have. You really do sound like a negative person.

I’m with you on the nurses thing, so many seem basically incompetent, even medical secretaries. I’m with you on the nurses thing, so many seem basically incompetent, even medical secretaries. Doctors offices are ran so much like a business where it’s like a factory line, the way we believe in medicine is just broken, from insurance to big pharma trying to sling product to doctor expenses, like all that adds up to often times just be a shit service besides basic acute illness.

I am really thankful that I have 2 close family members that are doctors. I always call one of them before I do anything medical. They both talk about how screwed up the system is.
