We have a slow season and a busy season. Right now were in the busy season. Last busy season I was working close to 60 hr weeks bc I was still new and didn't have a good grasp on how things went. Over the slow season, I asked to work only PT bc there wasn't 8 hrs of work to do and they didn't want that. So yeah, I would surf and slack off. Now were bakck in the busy season and I get the same amt of work it took me 60 hrs to do last yr done in less than 40. Now that I have a better grasp of how the office works, I'm getting treated worse. They complain that I dnt get anything done, bc I do nothing for more than half the day but I get all tasks done in about 3 hours. I'm not being rewarded for being efficient, I'm getting penalized. There is no incentive for me to work effectivly for 8 hrs a day anymore. Last busy season I got 3 raises in a 5 month span, but since I've improved, I haven't gotten anything but complaints from my employer. People may say I have bad work ethic, but I show up on time, I get my work done -whats bad about that? I work for a small co, so there isn't much else I can do. Everybody basically has one "job" and that's it. I dnt have internet access on my pc, but I have the internet on my phone and that's what I do to pass the time. If employers want employees to get their tasks done, and the employee can do so in 3-4 hrs, why wouldn't they have that employee be PT? isn't the employer the one losing out for having them on FT? The employer has to pay them the extra 4 hrs they aren't doing anything productive, thet provide benefits to FT employees, but wouldn't be required if they only worked PT. Now where's the sense in that?

I'm at work right now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

/rant

[QUOTE="Classic, post: 4018362, member: 585801"] If you show up 10-15 mins early here, you get reprimanded [\QUOTE] Jobs don't hire you to be individual, they hire you to get done what they need done. If you do that well you will get what you deserve. Well why do employers complain if you can get the job done in less the amt of time you are given? Wouldn't that make you a more efficient employee?
