I was like Jerry Springer the Opera at altitude. Of course, my memory of actually saying these things is patchy: something like a skydive strips you of your higher brain functions. The problem with being ginger is that it's not so much a hair colour as an identity. In actuality, you can do what you want with the hair colour - lighten it, darken it, blonde it, embrown it, do a Britney and shave it all off whilst battering cars with umbrellas if that's what gets you through the day - and to all intents and purposes you will still be a ginger. Your face is still the face of a ginger. Your body is still the body of a ginger. Your mind is still the mind of a ginger - and, should you question what the defining properties of a ginger face, body and mind might be, I'd have to say freckled, waxed and slightly embittered respectively. Ginger children are taunted, and the ginger adult is haunted. However much you try to conceal the evidence, the memories of your Duracell days continue to shape your self-image: ginger is your dirty little secret. Consequently, when people refer to me as 'blonde', I feel like a bit of a fraud.

Sometimes when I know i have to take a really long piss (I mean really long) I will pre-plan what else I can do while doing said piss. Today I had held it for far too long and as I was walking in I was thinking "I am going to need more water after this" so while pissing, I took out my wallet, made sure I had enough money, put it back away and then sent a text message.
