what is this baffle for??

well, there is no stock baffle for my car, so, if i put in speakers, the sound would go right into the door, would i benifit from getting these baffles??

Ive seen them stock, usually on 6x9's in rear decks. They never really seal well (not the stock ones Ive seen anyway) so I considered them mostly simply for protection. I imagine they help bass response some too however. But keep in mind many mids are made to work in doors in an infinite baffle setup, this item may actually hurt performance. *shrug*

Yep.

First off, those look to have VERY small airspace, so if they did seal well, you would have very compromised midbass, perhaps a peak somewhere high up, but no extension to lower mid-bass.

Second, I cant see those being made of anything stronger than some thin plastic, not ideal for an enclosure. For midbass, you'd be much better off cutting holes in the backs of them and buy some sound deadener to make your door function as a large baffle.
