What is the deal?

Okay I just bought my premier 3004spl and I went to pioneers website and it said the subs have a 1000 watt nominal power handling? What does this mean, does it mean I have to have at least a 1000watt amp to power one sub?( I know I have asked this question but everyone thought that Meant nominal ohms.) thanks for any help fellas, Feel free to recommend an amp for me, I ordered two if I like them I will order 2 more.

that means it can take 1000 watts RMS or all day long... you dont HAVE to HAVE 1000 watts but it will perform at peak performance at 1000 watts rms... feel free to underpower it as much as you want but dont go over to much

and to recommend an amplifier we need to know what ohm's your subs are and how many voice coils

they are dual 4 ohms, I am looking at the orion hcca2100, hifonics 2005d , and the directed 1500d.

Orion hcca amps are very good if I am not mistaken. The directed not bad and the hifonics dont do rated power. I would look into the newer Orion amps. The 2500 is a beast. That is if you get 2 more of those subs. peace!

No.

4 dual 4 is 2 ohm load.

2 1200ds or 2 2500ds would be the way to go, depending on how much you want to spend and if you want to over or underpower them.

I mean if it comes down to it i will return the 2x4 for 2x2 and i could wire them so the amp would be at 1 ohm. but is it powerful enough.

You are mistaken.

2x Dual 4 = 1 ohm

4x Dual 4 = 2 ohm

8x Dual 4 = 1 ohm

Your amp choice depends greatly on if you decide on just 2 or go for 4.

2x dual 4 ohm subs will wire to 1 ohm

2x dual 2 ohm subs will wire to 2 ohms
