what is feeling?

ok so i was just thinking today, why we do pretty much everything we like to do because of the feeling. drugs, ***, etc, etc.... but then i was wondering what feeling really is, you see we are pretty much completely driven by it, and what would happen if we didnt have it? *** wouldnt be any fun, drinking wouldnt, and drugs wouldnt. its just really weird how feeling controls the reasons why we do pretty much everything.
