What earbuds for ipod?

Man Im sittin here listenin to the vmoda bass freqs I just bought and Im happy with my $20 purchase I must say. They definitely arent the cleanest clearest sounding set, but I like the low end response of them, they are **** comfortable too and make a perfect seal.

Not bad, atleast I wont be too upset if I loose them or something.

Reviving an old thread because I'm needing some info. I have the shure e2c shure e110 and the shure SCL3. I am pretty much hating my new SCL3's and want more midrange and a bit more bass extension.

I was thinking about the UE super.fi 5 pro, but was open to suggestions before I do that. Wanting to spend less than 150.

I had the step down from those back in the day (the EB ones) and they were great. I was scared of that thin *** cord, but I think they improved that.

I'm gonna go with the v-moda vibe for my iphone. They seem to fit my budget and they got nice reviews too.

Dont get the vmodas, i retract my comments on them from before. Their failure rate is too high. I even got their new designed Vibe headphones, and they didnt last a month,

I ended up buying to replace those with the Denon C551k and using the comply foam fittings. they sound completely better and the cable doesnt tangle as easy. also includes a hardcase instead of a pouch. cant beat it for $100( $50 on ebay)

I am happy with the $20 Sony "heavy bass" buds from walmart. I am not spending a crap load on earbuds or headphones. While these won't go down to 10 hz and give earth moving bass, they sound good for $20.

What other earphones have you used?

The UE-10's are too expensive for me. I just can't justify spending that much right now. I do use headphones about 3 hours a day so I want high quality sound though.

Thanks for the input guys, I do appreciate it. I did also put in my name to do a review of the Monster headphones.

I havent listened to a very many headphones, but there is definetely a sonic difference from the vmoda vibes and the denons i bought. they are both the same price, so you decide. first thing i noticed was the top end on the denons, i could really hear the cymbals crashing on Dave Mathews where as on the vmoda it gets lost after 16k and sounds muffled a bit. second thing I noticed, after burn in period, was the bass isnt as exaggerated like it is on the vmodas. to sum up, I didnt know what I was missing until I heard what I was missing. Just an fyi the fittings that came with the Denons ****, way too flimsy, kept falling out of my ear and no good seal. I ended up using the fittings from the vmodas instead for the time being, then I got the comply foam fittings just over the weekend, The foam fittings feel great, feels like there is nothing in my ear and it has a great seal compared to a silicon one.

Thanks! I appreciate the feedback. I'm thinking that my E2C's and SE110's might already be ahead of the denon's though. The problem is the cables are a bit too flimsy from daily gym and then motorcycle riding. If anyone was thinking about getting Shure SLC3's, just don't do it. I've tried every fitting, every possible way and it just isn't hitting the spot //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif Amazon is selling the 530's (shure) for a bit under 300 which is about half the retail, i just don't want to spend it right now.

I appreciate that. I know a lot of times those comments are from maybe a week's use. No one really has any long term reviews. When I had the UE .5 eb or whatever they were called, I knew eventually those thin flimsy cables would break. I might look into those Denons.

Just was over at head-fi and they were talking about the Phonak Audeo PFE. They compare them to the Shure 530's (not as good of mid-range, but since there are separate drivers for the 530 it does not surprise me) and they are 139 direct. I'm going to give them a try.

I'll post a review when I get them.
