Cox cable.

While were on the subject.

Can someone explain how cox HD or directTV HD works? Like, do they use a special cable like component or HDMI to get the HD signal to your tv? Or does it run through the normal coaxial cable?

Everything runs through coaxial. The STB (set-top box) decodes the HD signal, and sends it via HDMI or Component cables to your TV set.

I use cable BTW for the OP. Comcast to be exact...for the awsome price of FREE.

Okay. I was wondering because I get a few news channels in HD for free.

I just use the coaxial cable that comes out of the wall. The quality is really good.

I always thought it was a little weird considering that my 360 requires the use of my component cables to look good. Im sure if I were to use an RF adapter it would look like shit.
