What crossovers?

what freq do you want to cut them off at? You may be able to just use capacitor. Your 6x9's should be able to hang with the low end pretty well. What speakers are you using?

i want the lows coming out of my 12's and when i do that my HU puts the bass to my 6X9's and it makes them sound all crappy. i would rather just be able to turn up my 6X9's and have them sound nice while the 12's cover the bass. i am using as i said alpine type s 6X9's

i dont know what frequencies to cut them off at, im pretty new to all of this...only 15 years old

about 400 microfarads of capacitance connected in series with the speaker should cut them off around 100Hz or so if those are 4ohm speakers. If you are sending 600 watts or less capacitors rated for 50volts should work. If more than that use one rated for 100volts. It's been a while since I played around with passive crossovers. I'll do some math and see if I can get some better info for you.

Well it looks like the caps are kinda expensive these days. It could cost in the neighborhood of 100 bucks or more for the caps you might need to do that. Go over to the speaker forum and post what you are trying to do there. You will want to cut them off around 100HZ or higher wouldn't hurt. You don't need alot of midbass comeing from the rear. Someone may have a good source for cheaper parts. you might want to PM OlogyAudio and see if he can hook you up with something cheap. you will not need a full crossover, Just some caps will do what you need.
