i am going to order 2 15" MT's, and will be powering them with 2 visonik v4000xd's that have been modded. my wall will be 13 cubic feet tuned to 49 hz for comps with a plug at 30 hz for weekend street beating. i want to run the amps at .7 ohms each for comps, and then of course higher for music. considering impedance rise, what kind of coils should i get?

if you dont know what kind of coils you should be getting with MT's and visionk 4kw amps... you should not be putting that kind of shit in your car.
seriously.
yup, best advice you will get. you dont need that stuff, and if you dont know how to use it then you definitly dont need it...

the setup you are planning is very complex as well, re-wiring amps for daily and plugging a very large port... tone it down some and start with a smaller set up, use that to learn, then work your way up to a set up like this only when you fully understand it and have learned about everything you need to know about...

thanks for all the smart @ss comments, i compete in nspl and db drag, so i do know a little bit. post count does not determine knowledge. i have not ran this amp/sub combo before, therefore i was inquiring to see if anyone has had experience as to best recommendations. i planned on running dual 1.4's, but at .7 parallel this may go up to 1-2 ohm with box impedance rise. but i have the wiring, all 1/0; speaker wire, going with 10 gauge; batteries, 4 16v turbostarts, and was just looking for some advice on coils.

no one said anything about post count except you there buddy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

if youve competed before you would have known the answer to your own question... we are here to help, but as far as impedence rise we cant really tell you that. only way to know for sure is to get the speakers in the box and test it. only way to know how youre individual set up is going to fair is to do your own personal testing...

Lemme go compete in quantum physics real quick, then I can say I know a little bit about it. Just because you compete doesnt mean you know anything, just because your post count is big or small doesnt mean you know anything. Just because you buy that equipment doesn't mean you'll be loud. You posted a question asking for an answer you were already set on, what does that say about what you know? You have fun with that 11 volts, yeah, I saw you said 16v batts.

hoss, i appreciate your last reply, comments like that are reasonable. but i was just asking to see if anyone had "personal" experience with a simliar setup before.

as far as the post count thing, it is assumed by people on forums that low post counts are always noobs. i have been checking termpro, soundillusions, caraudio, splbassx, mecacarauio for a couple of years now, but have at the most 100 posts combined. i dont post unless i have something to say or ask.

Quite frankly if you ask questions that sound stupid, you'll get answered in a "dumbass" manner.

The way you asked the question implied that you didn't know jack shit, I didn't even see your post count. If you had included the fact that you were wondering based on impedance rise then you probably would have gotten better answers.

yea dude. it had nothing to do with anything beside what you said.

now, you basically SAY what you ARE getting. and ask what kind of coils that you should get.

they come in DUAL OR QUAD .7 and 1.4 ohm coils.

to get .7ohms PER AMP - you will want DUAL 1.4 coils in parallel to EACH amp seperatly. and then you can switch them up to series to get 4.2ohms in the same configuration.

if you really knew what you were doing and you compete - you should SERIOUSLY know how to do that sir.

i dont post unless i have something to say or ask.
Yeah, me either.........

Keep in mind, he wants .7ohm per amp after impedence rise. So, having a DCR of .7ohm doesn't mean that's what the amp will actually be seeing.

See if this helps you any boatstoy: http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=2690

well how the hell are we supposed to know his impedance rise in his box if we dont have it to play with //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

send it to me and ill get you LOTS of info on it all //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Can't tell you how he expects us to know that. Just stating that that's what he wanted to know....which coils to go with to have a final .7ohm load after impedence rise.
lol. i still like my suggestion //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

ill do it, if he sends all the stuff to me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
