Wow. I last posted in this thread on 8-29-05

Well, I got that HU I said I was going to get. Eclipse CD8455.

Since then I have also acquired an CD8443, a clarion 7770 and a clarion DRX9575Rz

I still use the 8455 as mine and the wife gets the 8443.

Why? The 8 volts for my ZPA amp and the features, flexibility and quality of both HUs.

I can't even count all the head units i've had. But i do sure remember the bad ones.

Bad Ones

Alpine 3DA-W880 Horrible 3 Disk Changer

Sony XAV-7W Cheap and uglu

Pioneer Deh-P840mp Great Head unit, but broke so many dam times because of that flipping unit.

Only ALPINE! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Current is an Alpine CDA-9887...have had it for about 2 years...LOVE IT! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

I always find myself going back to Eclipse units...just so easy to use compared to the Alpines I have messed with. If I can help it, I'll never use anything other than an 8053 for as long as I can..just too clean and too easy to use. 3-way active capable with up to 24db/oct slopes, 8V pre-outs, 6 bands of EQ for the mids and 6 more for the highs(selectable between many different frequency options, not just 6 set-in-stone points.), independent t/a and level control for each speaker, easy navigation through the unit as well as it being visually easy to do the crossovers/eq-ing since it's all one big picture on the screen.

All for $150-200? I'll take it.

Only had two decks, one was a cheap starter deck (pioneer) from walmart. lol. Currently I have the DEH-5000UB, I love the USB jump drive/flash drive feature. I like this headunit because it has the features I like and use, plus simple enough for the gf to use the unit without screwing the settings up.

I am looking for the next unit to buy, I think it will be a toss up between a Clarion and the trusty Pioneer (if pioneer I'll be moving into the premier series).

I have an eclipse 7100 for the time being. Love the sound and the features. Miss the ipod controls of my alpine. Probably going to trade/sell mine and get a 9887.

I have this Eonon E1062 DVD, I like it very much, good sound quality and screen, and service it the fastest I've ever met. Worth the price indeed!

DEH-P8600MP in the Milan, DEH-P3700MP in the SHO, Alpine CDA-9884 with no face in the drawer (for sale BTW, face was stolen), CDA-9853 in the drawer as well (no face, also for sale), and a Kenwood DPX-501 with a bad LCD display in the same **** drawer.
