What brand of amp would make my subs pound...

I have 2 12'' planet audio big bang subs,, they are each 500 watt continous output .. i had a buddy of mine hook in his 600 kenwood and it made them sound crappy when both were hooked in,, but when he took one subs connectuion out the one 12 pounded like mad,, i want enough power to make both subs pound,, i was thinkin the kenwood 1000 watt,, but i don't know if that has enough juice,,,

any suggestions or comments!!

I am looking to spend around 400 canadian,,, and that resonant amp sounds pretty good,, but i'm not sure where to get it,, also would the kenwood 1000 be enough to make them sound good??

The 1200.1 is a great amp...the Ken would be fine for your subs...the RE amp would also be great.
