well, for that price i would reccomend the JVC mallow's (i think thats the name for them)

you might want to look at some open over the ear models though for bass. i prefer inears myself. i just got some shure e4c's and love them.

i got a pair of grado sr80's the only 2 downsides to them ive found is they arnt the best for portable cd players unless you want everyone around you to hear what your listening to.

they also are not the most comfterble headphones in the world, but apparently you can buy covers for their normal ear pads.

the sound though, is ****ing amazing i have mine hooked up to my home audio amp and they pound very hard.

Almost any speaker is going to have problems when your power source is only 60-80 milliwatts per side. If you want to improve the quality of sound, output, and bass response, try amping your existing earbuds. Scan ebay / google for a "CMOY" headphone amplifier.

Shure makes alright ear buds but you have to maintain them.. there is maintence with those ear buds. Sony's aren't bad but the only thing i hate about them is the cord/wire. Sony changed their wire/cord material and now it falls apart or turns into a gummy substance. But for the best bang for your buck .. your better off going with SONY ... but if you want noise cancellation then go with Shure Or Etymotic
