well i was thinking and squeak mentioned that maybe i would do

ok with just a better set of coaxials to replace my stock speakers

instead of going all out with a comp set and another amp taxing

my electrical system...

my front stage is certainly loud enough, but a speaker upgrade is

definatly a must... especially after seeing what crap the 6x9s are

i cant imagine the 6.5s are any better...

can anybody recommend some best bang for the buck 6.5s that

might tide me over...

thanks.

Check out all the major brands; DLS, Focal, Pioneer REV series (supposed to be pretty killer), Alpine, Image Dynamics, MB Quart, Boston Acoustics (my personal favorite), etc etc.

i thought pioneer made garbage for speakers?

but thanks, i will check into those brands... i even have a local

store that sells boston acoustic so ill go listen to those...

thanks.

Also check into JL (not too bright but they have jumper pins to increase db's for tweets on the crossover) and MB quart, you might want something decently bright since they will be down low on the doors, also try to get the kind that you can angle the tweets if possible. This is all IMO

i have soundstream px 6.5's and love them to death. with my hu set right ive turned the volume up to 30 of 40 with crystal clear sound and no distortion, as well as being loud enough to make your ears bleed :p

but they are discontinued so you may have a hard time finding them, if you do though they should be cheap.

now my factory tweeters are in the dashboard right near

the windshield...

if im hooking these 6.5s into where the door speakers

are whats going to happen to the tweeters???

i know this isnt a substitute for a good comp set and amp... which

i think that might be overkill for me anyways... and my cars electrical

system... my headlights already are like strobe lights to the bass...

but would this be a sensible upgrade to stock speakers???

look into infinity, ive had some experience with them and they are awesome, even run off a head unit. i've tried their reference series as well as the kappa series, and ive been very satisfied with both series, you can get references for cheap on ebay, maybe like 40-60, they're low priced. the kappas are around 100ish, good luck with your search

thanks guys... camry tuner i was just looking at the gear in your

sig... i see youve got a full on infinity interior there... are the kappas

that much better than the references??? i know the refs are pretty

cheap...

crutchfield says that no 6.5s will fit in my car... and only a few 5.25s

but circuit citys vehicle fit guide says that all their 6.5s will fit in my

car...

what else do you have to get to hook any interiors up... just a wire

harness??? would that just be a standard honda speaker harness???

thanks.

Depends on how they are wired. I had factory "components" in my car, and all they did was connect the tweeter and mid together, and run a cap in-line with the tweeter (as a cheap highpass filter). So, all you'll have to do is locate the wires for the tweeter and disconnect them.

Well, all you'll have to do is unhook the factory speakers, snip off the factory connectors (assuming they use them) and replace them with regular spade connectors, then plug the spade connectors onto the speakers terminals. No additional harnesses should be needed, since your deck should already be connected to the factory wiring.

i had the ref powered by a headunit and kappas by an amp, but the kappas sound amazing, they're a lot clearer, also, the refs have lower power requirments and they will be great off a head unit. i had 3way 6x9 and 2way 6.5. the tweeters were pretty good, and the 6x9 put out pretty good midbass. ive been very satisfied with infinity products, and they are priced pretty well.
