Hey guys I just received 2 Alpine Type R SWR-12D4 subwoofers as a birthday present from the girlfriend, was wondering what amp would power them both to their maximum potential ? And what would be the best way to do it ? 2 amps or 1 really powerful amp? Any suggestions? Both have an output of 1000W RMS. These subwoofers will be paired up to my stock headunit for now as well as stock speakers in my Civic Si. Also would these 2 subwoofers be too powerful for the car itself? Anything I would need to do beforehand? I appreciate all the help guys thanks!

Bro, you got multiple multiple multiple choices. Go ahead and go with that amp, upgrade your electrical (are you familiar) and call it a day...

Well I just bought this ampHifonics BRX1600.1D 1600W RMS Class NextGen Super-D Monoblock Brutus Series Amplifier. Good choice or? and this wiring kit NVX XKIT02 100% Copper, 2-Channel True Spec 1/0 Gauge Amplifier Installation Kit w/ RCA Interconnect and 40 ft Speaker Cable. What do you think? I'm not familiar with the electrical...?

thats not gonna be enough juice to get max output out of them. Your going to need a stupid efficient custom box for your subs to get away with that sort of power. NVX is overpriced as hell but it works. For electricals, google up how to do the big 3 upgrade or even youtube information is plenty all you need to do is search. I'd Strongly recommend spending 10-20 dollars on a digital multi-meter and check your voltages with your system playing first to see how low your voltage drops on heavy basslines. if its less than 13 volts, do the big 3, if its falling down to 10-11s, your gonna need a 2nd battery in your trunk.

That amp is good too. I have that amp but the 2400 would have been a little better. Those Alpine Rs can handle 1k watts a piece. Might as well give them at least all what they called for plus the 2400 isn't all that much higher than the 1600.

****, so I should get the 2400 instead? The 1600 would blow them right since at 1 ohms they'll both get 800W RMS so they'll be underpowered? I just don't want anything to blow lol. So the Hifonics BRX 2400 it is then right? Wouldn't those give 1200 RMS at 1 ohm though? Isen't that too much power?

2400w x 4 peak and 120w rms x 4. That has to be world record dynamic right there 🤣.

Recoil 2500.1 $179 2500 x 1 @ 1 ohm. Make sure subs are the dual 4 ohm version. If you don't want that much power, get the Recoil red1200.1 for 1...

Have an Xli 2500 as a sub amp in the music room, overkill for sure, never overheats, never skips a beat.
