What advantage would I see out of an EQ?

well eclipse hasnt yet processed my order because my credit card company was being gay. now ive been thinking about changing my order back to an avn6600 to save some money and its a double din. anyway, i was going to get the avn7000 with the dcu105. if i get the avn6600 and the eq2102 30 band EQ would it end up being about the same sq control wise, minus the active controls? and minus controlling it on the screen? could it sound better?

would this also eliminate the built in eq and such on the avn?

First speakers should be placed in optimal spots in the vehicle to give the proper stage and height. The EQ is to be used to adjust frequencies so the speakers perform their best. Basically it is used to adjust for irregularities in the car. Reflections and such. If you want a better explaination why not check out Audio Video on University near Buffalo Wild Wings. ok, i dont think i was clear enough in my question. '

i know what an eq is. maybe i should have put a different title.

anyway, im asking for a comparison of of the avn7000/dcu105 and the avn6600/eq2102. or just the avn6600 by it self compared to with the eq. will it give a better baseline soud quality? will the eq on the screen still adjust, or will it bypass control to the external eq?

The only thing you will lose with doing that is the 5.1 surround sound, hard drive, and the 7 inch screen vs the 6.5 . Both units are very nice. I have the eclipse 6600 and will be ordering either the eclipse or kicker 30 band eq. With the 30 band eq i would imagine you would have more flexibility than the 7000. Either way you should be happy.

would you still be able to adjust the 9 band on the screen? like if i put the 30 band under the seat, but wanted to make a quick adjustment, could i?
