what happened with the xxx is it on backorder again? well i can settle with a pair of 12s but i really wouldve prefered the 18.

Well it would take three 12's to get close to the same cone area as a single 18, but two 15's have more cone area then both so once again my vote is for two 15's.

Well for a pair d4 SX's or RL-p's. For a single sub definately a new magnum like denim said. Mags are definately some of the best out.

s18x....(solo x 18)

in 5.5ft^3net (or even smaller) tuned to 36hz....off an orion 2500d....

loud and low...and quite musical. for what it is...

gets nasty low....

Nasty low in a 36hz box??? hmmm Does it peak below tuning? And it gets hella loud off 2500? I thought those things needed shit tons of power to get loud.

Yes mags are stereo integrity. And 2 l7 15's would get rediculously loud, but I think you may have a little too much power for them. IF you manage your gains correctly though then they would work.

according to the impedence map i did, it's actually tuned about 32hz....the loudest spl scores (outlaw on a TL, usaci) was achieved at 52-53hz, burp style. and yeah, IMO, it gets hella loud off just (rated) 2800wrms (wired to .5ohm nominal, with impedence rise, score was achieved with ~1700wrms), 144.4db. it can and will get louder, with just a box change. but it can and most likely will also get more power. not the most efficient sub....(and this done in an fullsize x-cab truck. in a celica [or any hatch for that matter] it would be even louder)

but for a daily driver, an orion 2500d is plenty on a s18x....

sweet now that you say 32 it makes more sense...... was that 44.4 legal or outlaw? If its legal then not too shabby outlaw should be better...... not tryin to flame just stating my opinion..... A buddy of mine who's system I set up did a 45.x outlaw and a 43.6 legal in an ext cab w/ 2 SE 15's tuned to 36 w/ a nine.1 at 45hz.... so yea 2 SE's would get hella loud too.... and can handle 1kw each or more as long as there's no clipping.

it was outlaw...and the s18x is just that inefficient. i did a 145.5 outlaw with a pair of 15" treo ss's,tuned to 34hz, off just a memphis 1000d the year before. however, the s18x will get louder..lol..it will just take a bit more work...
