Well since I am a huge notre dame fan I decided to post this thread to see what you guys think of their chances this year.

They have lost two games:

1 to Michigan State

1 to USC (terrible loss, Bush pushed him in)

Now they are rated 11th in the BCS - but 7th in both other polls.

With Miami beating Virginia Tech, they take a loss. Again this sat there is another game with two top 10 teams.

Now my hope is not for the national title which is well out of reach now, but do you believe they could get a BCS bowl - i meen a MAJOR BCS bowl?

GO IRISH - Charlie Wies also signed a 10 year contract - Cha Ching!

Actually, All BCS bowls are MAJOR bowls. And seeing how Notre Dame has always gotten favorable rankings and bowls they haven't deserved then I'm sure if they win out they'll get a BCS bowl.

Example: When they were awarded the Fiesta Bowl against Oregon State when there were atleast 4 other more worthy teams that were passed over and Notre Dame goes out there and literally gets their ***** handed to them. Nice showing and a waste of a BCS bowl bid in my opinion.

I'll admit college football is political but what do you mean by shakey.??

I meen its shakey in the sense that some big games are coming uup that can mess up some teams.

And there are only 5 major BCS bowls

Orange Bowl, Sugar Bowl, Rose Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, and some say Cotten Bowl - Those are the BIG ones

My solution:

4 bowl game where 1-8 play each other. Winners move on to the

Semi finals the following week

Then the National Championship Game.

2 extra weeks of College football with the best of the best laying it all out on the field.

I would never say the Cotton Bowl is a major bowl. The bowl with the highest payout that isn't a BCS bowl is the Capital One Bowl (formerly known as the Citrus Bowl). So I would have to say the Cotton Bowl is nothing more than just another bowl.

Way too many teams and results in way too many extra bowl games. I say to do it like this which is what Kirk Herbstreit suggested as well. Pick 2 BCS bowls every year and in one of them 1 plays 4 and in the other 2 plays 3. One week later, the winner of each bowl plays for the Nat'l championship. That way there is only 1 extra game being played.

College football isnt only about who is the champion but also to gain more money for the college itself. You know, education?
College athletics are NOT about education. They're about making money and earning school pride.

They earn money for the school through the bowls hence why there is so many. It gives the schools chances to get some income to spend the money on what colleges are really used for. Education.

You can have school pride without atheletics.

F*ck the Notre Dame administration, they are such scumbags.
I agree for the most part. The only reason they will NOT join the Big Ten is because they don't want to share bowl revenue with anyone else. Bad part is when they don't go to a bowl they get nothing. But yeah, they seem to be all about money.
