Well water blows

Just moved into the new house and no more Lake Michigan water //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I've been looking around for the best sulfur solution (my water smells like rotten eggs/rotten @s$) but cannot figure out what to get. Some methods just seem like complete BS....

Anyone have experience with this and know what method I should use to neutralize the smell?

We had the EXACT same problem. The solution? We got city water. It was basically undrinkable, and it was so dirty that when using the faucets or bathtubs, black particles would flow out from manganese buildup.

I don't think we can feed from the main line because we are an unincorporated residence. If that's not why, I don't know, but I'm pretty sure we cannot get city water.

at school, you could always tell who had well water because they smelled like shit

Doesn't do anything, sulfur is next to impossible to get out of your water. We dug 3 different wells, no results. The sprinkler still runs on the well, at 2 am that is when no one's awake to smell it.

You mean rotten eggs mixed with ammonia. It's an awful smell.
