Well... it's the truth.

Yeah that might be possible, except the majority of the class will be applying it to data we collected last semester and interpreting it in one big paper to be entered into a student paper competition.
Memorizing wont suffice and neither will understanding. Coherent application and interpretation is key.
What is your topic? Or what does your data cover?

But I'm am more than confident that at least one of the many self-professed geniuses here in the lounge will be willing to help me out.
Since the average IQ on this forum is greater than 140, I would assume collaboration would make it a piece of cake. Just don't implement any of their adaptations of grammar, word choice, etc.

I was thinking that i probably wouldn't even have to use SPSS (stats software package)..

My plan was to just post the raw data and let our fine members figure it all out for me.

data is from a multi-stage cluster sample taken of the city my school is located in.
Survey was on alcoholism (as a disease concept) and stigma.
What are you trying to explain? I find it difficult to apply the article given unless you are ranking feelings. But its gets incredibly complex, as mentioned in example 4.

We used MiniTab so can't help.

Actually, I think you should give it a shot, just to see the results and how people defend their conclusions.

The premise is that familiarity with the disease concept of alcoholism will result in less stigmatization of alcoholics.. or it wont (most likely IMO). There is one aspect of the project that we haven't done yet and that is surveying alcoholics in treatment programs. I'm not sure exactly how that will fit in though (since our premise should be able to be suppported or rejected with the survey data from the city residents). I suppose maybe we will use the results from alcoholics to either support the validity of our other findings or reject them. There are already many flaws and limitations inherent to me in the project..mostly involving methodology.. but my intent isn't really making a substantial contribution to the field.. its learning the process.

I knew when i registered for this that it would be one of those things that half way through it i would be cursing my choice and doubting my ability to succeed.

Those are always the most rewarding classes though, or the ones that go down in flames. 50/50 shot.

As if anyone does it needs the money. Name one President in the last 100 years who wasn't already wealthy before becoming President.
Wealthy = annual pay >$100k
Are you an idiot? You think that because someone makes more than $100K they are wealthy?

i no i'm new but the way i look at it...white's were the super power all through out history and if you look in the usa today the whites are losing power which really makes me mad..call me racist or what not i don't care...i say let the south rise agian.. plus with what you were saying if white guys do soemthing black people do...we get called racist your right....thats bull we should rise up

Wouldn't surveying the friends and families of alcoholics in rehab be more effective?
Not if you are trying to examine the stigmatization that alcoholics experience with the reported level of stigma from the general public.

Plus I'm sure that would upset the IRB (required for all research involving human subjects), they wouldn't even let us ask in the general survey about friends/family who are alcoholics or in treatment without getting a signed release form from every participant. Of course that would have impacted participation (not being anonymous) so we left those questions out.

Like i said.. this is mostly about the process and not the actual findings.

You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you, so why are the ghettos the most dangerous places to live?

You have the United Negro College Fund.

You have many other college funds

You have Martin Luther King Day.

You have the rest of the holidys

You have Black History Month.

you have evry other month

You have Cesar Chavez Day.

You have Yom Hashoah

???

You have Ma'uled Al-Nabi

??

You have the NAACP.

And that's it......

You have BET.

You have all 1,000 other channels

If we had WET(White Entertainment Television) we'd be racists.

Im all for it

If we had a White Pride Day you would call us racists.

everyday is white pride day //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

If we had white history month, we'd be racists.

every month is that

?

If we had an organization for only whites to "advance" our lives, we'd be racists.

im sure there already are

If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships, you know we'd be racists.

most college funds do

There are over 60 openly proclaimed Black Colleges in the US, yet if there were "White colleges" that would be a racist college.

Most universities are mainly white

In the Million Man March, you believed that you were marching for your race and rights. If we marched for our race and rights, you would call us racists.

You have all your rights and stuff //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you're not afraid to announce it. But when we announce our white pride, you call us racists.

Why not

You rob us, carjack us, and shoot at us.? But, when a white police officer shoots a black gang member or beats up a black drug-dealer running from the law and posing a threat to society, you call him a racist.

If it was vice versa, as in a black cop and a white person im sure white people would call that cop racist too

Are you an idiot? You think that because someone makes more than $100K they are wealthy?
I am quite ignorant. Just ask around.

Not if you are trying to examine the stigmatization that alcoholics experience with the reported level of stigma from the general public.

Where they not members of the general public before confronting the disease?

I thought the motivation was to find out if increase knowledge about the disease impacted the publics stigma of it?

playing with the demographic information (income/education/political&religious affiliation) has been really interesting.

the vast majority of people reported themselves as being politically and religiously moderate //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
