weather, hot and cold temperatures affect amps rms output?

I'm beginning to wonder about this, one day i was playin my system and it was 70 degrees outside and my subs pounded hard, then the next day it was 80 degrees outside and my car had been sittin in the sun and my subs didn't pound as hard on the same volume level and the same song, is it my ears are used to the loud bass now or something or has the bass kinda messed with my mind? funny how the test tones would always hit the same wattage though but the music would be way down in the lower voltage range like close to 10 AC volts, thoughts on this

Because music is a dynamic waveform and test tones aren't? Because music is recorded at a lower reference level? Etc...

usually the opposite my firend. Lower ohm loads means there is more current being pulled through the amplifier. More current = more heat.
I don't understand how that is different or maybe I wasn't clear. Is 4 ohms less or more heat than 1. I think it would be less.

Then you're agreeing with him, if you follow that logic //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Heh, lemme clarify. 4 ohms draws less current then 1 ohm //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I also misread his post =\

But is it correct? According to his next post it would be.

It might have something to do with air density. Air is more dense (generally) when it is cooler. It's like having a more direct link between you and the speakers. I know that when people tune auditoriums they can take into account temperature and equalize for it.

It's all in your head.

Cooler temperatures could in theory stiffen the moving parts (but not at 70 degrees) and actually make things quieter.

It's probably just your noggin, all other things being equal (not likely to have been the case however).

I will post this here since it more or less fits.

I live in the North East, and it gets rather cold here. Instinct tells me that running a sub/amp in 0-30 degree F could damage the equipment. Does that guide me right or is it alright to run them? And out of curiosity, what happens?

the spiders get stiffer when its cold outside, my subs are DEFINATELY quieter in the early morning when its 30 something outside then in the late afternoon when its in the mid 50's
