well lube WD-40 are really 2 different items....WD actually breaks down grease/lubricants and cleans the surfaces..it also displaces moisture like in spark plug wells. Grease /lube is actually designed to exist in/on the friction zone.

On a second note...my son wrote on my LCD screen with a permeanant marker. i called sony on what to remove it with and they said basically that the monitor was ruined. i figured WTH since it was ruined i'll try some WD40....marker came right off and the monitor is still perfect.
