So i bought a Power Acoustik PS2-600 amp from them a couple of days ago, it said it would ship on the 20th of March. I got an email yesterday saying they shipped it faster then expected, and since i live very close to them, i'd get it today.

So UPS comes around noon, and i'm all excited. The only thing i notice is that the box is absolutely monstrous. I open it up, and it's a PS2-2600, which puts out 450x2 @4 ohms instead of 95...

since my rainbow SLC's can't take 450 watts RMS, i call them up. Luckily, i'll get the amp by the end of the week (or so he said) and i don't have to pay for shipping to send it back.

I would have kept it and bought another amp, but i've had a huge amount of trouble getting this system in and have no use for it whatsoever, and don't feel like selling to to someone and going through all that trouble.

Apart from my crossover exploding, my amp going bad (which the other PS2-600 should have replaced), to this, i've had a lot of trouble. It's been about a month since all of this should have been done, and all i want is music!

why so many problems!?!?

Unless the footprint of the amp was a issue. Or options (HP filter for example)

I would of called & returned it as well, its just the right thing to do. Especially if ya dont necessarily need it, sure ya could of sold it, but sooner or later itll come back and bite ya in the ass

1) yes i am an idiot. After my first amp giving 100x2 blows up my crossover (yes, blows up, as in smoke, melting plastic) i'm a little reluctant to give a component set (that RMS's at 100) 450 watts, espicially after what happened to me the first time.

2) Not only will this monster not fit in my car (as it is about 3 feet long) i have absolutely no use for it and after a month of having problems with installing this, i really don't give a crap if i make 100 bucks off it. While it is a lot of money to me, it's not worth my time at all.

3) why is this amp better? More power does not mean better quality by any means. I could get a 2000 watt Boss amp, and by your ingenious thinking, (that more power=higher quality) it would certainly be better then a small Audison amp, correct?

4) Thanks for calling me an idiot, but at least i know for sure your an ***.

I give my Slcs 280wrms per side and they love it, Its all about the install and obviously you did something wrong to acheive that.

But it is good to hear their are still honest people in this world.

the amp was bad..it crapped out on me.

 

Wires are fine, i've quadruple checked them about 100,000 times. Power wire is fine, worked for my sub. So is the ground. Used it before, nothing has changed. Unless wire has the ability to magically change ohmage or wattage, the amp was bad.
