you'll have to find a dealer with a FFL to purchase one of here legally. Otherwise its illegal to ship a gun across the state line, IIRC. Not to mention you would have to transfer ownership.

Not only that, but this kid is 17. You CANNOT legally own a firearm *not a longrifle* until you are 21.

You can own a rifle at 18.

usually i think the owner would take it to a dealer, ship it to another deal in the buyers area, and there he would run the background check, proof of age and perminent residence. so he would be buying the gun from a loacl dealer who is a middleman.

i was thinking of the kimber desert warrior. it is a .45 handgun, for roughly $900-1400.

Kimber makes a great 1911 styled .45 but I have large hands and 1911 styled pistol feels to narrow . Personal favorites are HK , Sig .

i am not a huge fan of glocks, although its not too expensive for a personal defense weapon, but they do have a nice grip. it feels good in your hand, pretty ergonomic.

I had a Kimber Eclipse, great gun, A2 1911 frame...

I am suprised no one has said a P239 or P226.

Sig is the way to go. Outta my Kimbers, HK USPs, Les Baers..

The Sigs are just everday azz kickers, the rest are great, but heavy or bulky..
