Volvo 240 power from engine to trunk

Trying to add an amp and subs into a 1990 Volvo 240. Does anyone have a recommendation on how to get the power wire from the engine compartment back to the trunk?

It looks like I can go under the carpet from the passenger compartment back to the trunk, but what's the best way to get out of the engine compartment through the firewall? Use an existing hole (can't find one) or harness that's not fully used (can't find one of those either)? I can't imagine drilling a new hole through the firewall.....

Thanks.

BS. Have you pulled up the carpeting around the firewall? Noticed where the stock wiring harnesses enter? Trust me, there's a grommet there that's either unused, or one that's big enough for you to split a power wire through.

If not, it's time to get out the drill...trust me, drilling holes in the exterior of my vehicle for antenna mounting is much scarier than drilling into the firewall ever could be //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I swear if there is a single car out there DOES NOT put xtra holes in their firewalls its GM. I have a Potiac and there is not a single spare hole in the firewall. I wound up having to drill a hole. Also I have a 95 camaro in the body shop and ive looked it all over as well and wouldnt ya know it...no spare holes. Ford is good about adding extra holes but for GM I swear it must me sin for them to this.

Found a hole! Just to the left (driver's side) of the steering column is an actual metal plate about 2'x3" square held on by two bolts from under the dash. Removed the plate, drilled a hole for 4ga wire, and put the plate back on.

Simple. Thanks for everyone's advice!

if i recall on 200's volvo you can run the wire under the car and come in the trunk there are drain holes that is the easy way i have seen done.. or just relocate the battery to the trunk and that would solve the problem aswell.. for future reference of course
