VISONIK V800HC rebuild /upgrade

We ordered 2 different op- amps and I'm waiting for them to get here...The owner of the amp has been Extremely helpful in locating parts...I'm going to try both and take distortion measurements to see which one is the best sounding over all....Its not really part of what we're doing but I need to put it to rest in my head for once and for all...Part A or part B...I need to know...

I have all the caps in but I don't want to do any more partial work..I would like to sit down and finish the amp when I start working on it again as it's just not productive in the shop to work on stuff and stop and go back to it unless it's a matter of waiting for part's

In its current state the amp is back up and running just without it's heat sink...I did power it up to make sure everything was OK with the work we did so far though...so...Caps and Op-Amps to do....

...school?
I was thinking more on the lines of an apprenticeship so I wouldn't have to pay for school. I already went to Metro Auto Electronics in north jersey and recieved my MECP certification but I learned absolutely NOTHING! My teacher was LITERALLY a cokehead and would show up to class all red-eyed and wirey. he was a complete a$$hole IMO... The second half of the semester we watched episodes of Reno 911 and random movies.... Well the rest of the class did... I was wiring up alarms and doorpops in the car-clips lol. But yea, that's why I'm not looking for a school right now. I ruined my life by going to that school and now I'm stuck with loans to pay off

That sucks...I'm going to a state school getting my bachelors in Electrical Engineering and I'm learning quite a bit...

how is that major? I was toying around with the idea of adding that as my second major, my other being criminal justice.
It's alright. If you hate math, your going to hate this major...it's pretty math heavy. If your more looking to pick up a second major that gives you some experience with real world electronics, you may want to look into an Electrical Engineering Technology major. My major starts at the basic theory, as in the flow of electrons, how a diode works (like literally what it's made of and how/why the electrons flow like they do), same with a transistor. It's some fairly dry material but good to know if your going to be working in the field.

hmmmm. good to know. I'll try and look into that electrical engineering technology major and see what school's around me offer it. what are you aspiring to do? just something in that field? take what you can get basically?

O G D-wet...I've done the apprenticeship thing for a local college more than once..maybe check in to your community college and after u have the basics under your belt go hit some shops and beg for a shot...just stay away from T.V. shops unless you want to either be a alcoholic or do alot of drugs..I'm not talking about street drugs..Im talking about crazy people drugs..cause sooner or later you'll have to take them to just force yourself to go to work in the morning!

Criminal Justice to EE is a giant switch. Unless you have a really good math/physics background, its going to be quite the eye opener!

All the parts are here...Gonna put er together this weekend and post sometime in the beginning of the week with a few pics and info on distortion and power output heat dissipation and get this one outta here....Sorry for the huge lapse..totally my fault..I had some part issues(most of which were my own fault) and the wait was me reordering(2 times) to get what I actually needed as opposed to what I ordered....

Its cool man, we all know your busy. But awesome news. Can't wait to see and hear the final results.
