Viper d1200.1 - how to increase + and - terminals

I know there are other amps out there that are like this, but my viper d1200.1 has a little plug that goes into the side of the amp to send current throught the +bat and the -ground terminal. It is designed to accept 8awg wire but i need to use 4awg wire, is there some kind of plug or adapter or something that i can use to connect 4awg directly to the amp?

Yup. Stinger makes 'em.

uh, the 1200.1 accepts 4ga, i used to have one

viper wouldnt make a 1200rms amp only accept 4 ga

oh yea, in the terminal, there is a screw thing you screw in that tightens up on a metal tab, take the screw all the way out and then take the metal tab out, and it can hold more/hold it better that way, i messed with that amp for like 15mins trying to get the power wire to quit coming out, took that out and never had a problem

the 1200.1 is made to fit 4 gauge.

Why wouldnt yours fit?

you must have a janked up one or either trying to fit 0 gauge in, cause mine was a tight fit but it still went in

for free just trim the wire down to fitn in, not that hard, you wont see it since its stuck in the terminal

I had that issue as well, but I was trying to shove 1/0 in there. Wouldnt have none of it, had to trim it down to fit it there.

i have 2 viper 1200,s, one is a refurb and both accept 4awg, it is a tight squeeze on the refurb because it is the plug from the DEI 1100d but it still fits. You should have no problem wiring that amp up with 4awg.

seems to me you havnt tried hard enough or have some tangled up wire, start a new end and crimp or twist it really tight

so i dont need to use the metal tab in there? i can just shove the wire in the plastic part and not use the metal cylinder with the screw? or should i take out the screw and just use the cylinder?

Hell, my 4g slips out of my viper 1200.1, I need to go with 1/0 if I want it to fight tightly.
