that cone is soooo sexy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

as far as the cone creasingl i know it isnt supposed to do that, so id imagine thats not good. but how bad is it? i hadnt plugged the speaker wire hole with caulk yet, is it possible that small leak could cause some irregular voice coil movement and thus creasing?

it does sound liek that in the vid. in person i couldnt hear any slapping though...and ive slapped voice coils before unfortunately.....its possible it might be over excuring a lil bit so i'll bing down a notch just in case. but in person i couldnt hear any definite slapping

hey!!!

you got your bass back.... better than going forever w/o it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

talked to dd today. looks like my box is just a lil bit too big. as long as the VC doesnt rub im okay, but to be on the safe side im gonna go easy on gain.

question. polyfill. would it work to adhesive some polyfill to the inside of the box to reduce net volume, would this work and how would it effect the tuning? currently 3.5cubs @ 35Hz

Polyfil isn't really what you're looking for to decrease enclosure volume. You could cut out some 45* angle pieces to glue in the corners to take up some space but the tuning is going to go up pretty quickly. It would tune to about 42hz if you added dead volume and kept the same port area.

The wrinkle in the surround is really just something that happens with tall surrounds and really only affects the linear travel of the surround. When it crinkles like that, it will just be a little distorted but unless it's causing the coil to rub, I wouldn't worry about it.

Hey, are you going to be busy sometime next week? I would love to hear this thing. I also just built a transmission line for my sub and have it running off of a ghetto 100w amp right now. It peaks around 22hz right now and is pretty awesome sounding.

hit me up on aim or just call me neil

ehhh got some more problems. it seems the RCA inputs are crapping out on me. the amp is mounted to the box and it vibrates pretty badly. i think the vibrations loosened the rca inputs off the board. there's a SLIM chance the rca cables took a poop, but i doubt it (checking that tomorrow). if this is the case im going to look into orlando places that can do amp work. i know a GREAT amp repair shop in tampa called Alpha Electronics who do outstanding work and at fair prices. worst case scenario ill drive to tampa to have that done if i cant find a local place at a good price/ its so ****ing frustrating hen shit breaks.....gawd daymit

speaking of which, anyone know how to get this kx 2500.1 open? i couldnt figure out how to get to the board.

as far as dead volume. my SSF only goes up to 35Hz so i dont wanna raise the tuning anymore. that sucks. i can deal with it though....hell maybe in time i'll just cut the hole bigger and drop a 15 in //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
