Usual Workout Thread; Different Goal...

Hey guys,

Well I am also posting a thread about working out this entire year. Classes starts tomorrow for me so I'll be next to the gym more often at it is free (sort of //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif ) And I plan on being strict about it so summer time there should be some decent results.

Here is my thing, though...

I just got tested for my BFI at my friends gym, and (I don't work out at all - mind you) my BFI was only 7.4 percent. Yup, I'm only 7.4 percent body fay, which is stupid low IMO. I'm 6'1" and 160 lbs. I'm slender but not very skinny looking, but my body fat is so low! Even when my diet sucked and I ate crap and fatty fast foods I didn't gain a pound.

Thus, I'm not looking to workout to shed fat and get toned like most people, I'm here to gain anything I can. I know you need fat to build muscle so I'm going to try and see what the difference in a workout I need to accomplish to get results I want. I want to bulk up so it may be harder for me. I have no idea why my body is like this but most people say they want my metabolism, lol.

----

I know it can be done, because my friend from HS is kind of built like me, but has a bit more bulk naturally I guess you van say, and he worked out last year and got real slender and kind of skinny, but he was toned really nice. Then this year he worked out again and he gained a SH*T tone of muscle and looks huge.

It sucks because he is at another school now so I emailed him about it today but still he says he did it all naturally, doesn't use any weird B/S like creatine or steroids. Clearly he did something different though.

It would be awesome if any of you had tips on how to bulk up for someone like my who is "skinny". Any comments, infomration, links to other places to reseach, etc, would be very welcome.

Let me know if ya'll need any more info out of me, but until then, I'll STFU.

Thanks!

Rather simple.

Shoot for 1g protein per lb of body weight. And find out your daily maintenance calories from an online calculator..Then intake about 500 more calories a day than your maintenance calories. You will gain weight.

do a cycle? lol jay/kay jay/kay

just eat a crap ton of protein...u need massive ammounts of calorie intake along with a very consistent workout schedule. Lift heavy, low reps with lots of weight. I was like u in high school, i was 6'3 165lbs, my senior year i was 185lbs and really ripped. i did it with lotf and i mean lots of calorie intake, we're talking 4 hotdogs, a sandwidch, and like 2 glasses of milk for lunch...lmfao lots of acohol and pot.

x2 I would shoot for a minimum 3500 cals per day. Complex Carbs and Proteins are best

Didnt see that you have a fast metabolism. Lucky mother****er.

Also you dont need to gain fat to gain muscle, whoever told you that lie is a ****** and needs a bullet to the dome. But on to the issue. Concentrate on exercises like the squat, deadlift, bench press, barbell row, shoulder press, dips, chins too maybe, anything thatll hit many muscles at once because especially since youre new, itll stimulate the most amount of growth. Ive gotten the best results doing 6-8 reps per set, though I would switch it up anywhere form 5 to 12, maybe alternate light and heavy weeks. Try and get down 3500 cals a day and see how that goes. Dont be afraid to cut it back if u see fat gain, you dont wanna have to cut later because cutting sucks dick..

but for someone like him it's probably ALOT easier to cut than it would be to just put on lean muscle mass

step 1

-eat

step 2

-lift

step 3

sleep

rinse and repeat your gunna wanna eat a ton and sleep a ton if your serious and obviously a bit more help then found on ca.com. Otherwise make sure you eat atleast 1 gram of protiend per pound. and eat alot of calories dont leave out fat.

Thanks everyone for the tips. It seems there is a general consensus which doesn't seem too complicated. Thanks for all the tips so far. The only thing I'm cutting out of my diet is dairy products (mainly milk and yogurt, but I'll eat everything else... I just can't consume a lot of it).

Yeah my metabolism is freaking fast. About 5 years ago I just ate like crap (fast food) and a LOT of it, and I didn't gain a pound. Yet if I don't eat a lot I don't loose one either. I guess it is a good thing. Especially since my body fat is only 7.4 percent, lmfao WTF.

I have taken a bunch of daily maintenance calorie calculations online and it says to maintain I should stay around 2100 to 2500. So I'll try to eat around 3500-3000.

PM me your e-mail address. I'll send you a workout book that is geared towards people like us who have a hard time gaining weight.

I gained 20 pounds of muscle in about 3 months with it.

I wouldn't cut out all dairy products..Whole milk would be an excellent bulking tool for you..The protein in milk is slow dissolving and is great to drink right before you go to bed for the night.
or you could just buy some Casein Proteins from a different source //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'm not doing it for my workout needs, but rather I'm slightly lactose intolerant. I mean, I can eat dairy, but a lot of it makes me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif
