USPS sending items on weird shipping routes? WTF??? HONOLULU? I Live In Oregon!

Well, I bought an video game on eBay from a user on June 14th. I haven't received my game yet so I sent him a message to see what's up today and this is what he replied:

for some reason the usps saw fit to send your game to hawaii. I honestly don't know why, because you should have received it by now if it wasn't taking the scenic route. the tracking number is xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. I apologize that it hasn't gotten to you but I really don't have any control once i give the package to US post. If you have any further questions or anything you want to contact me about feel free and i'll get back to you asap.

So, I haven't bought items on eBay in a while. Is it USPS's fault or did he do something stupid to get the item sent to Honolulu when I live in Oregon?

What should I do? Give him a break and wait for my game to get to me? Or file a complaint on ebay?

You should be able to see the destination it was assigned to when you put in the tracking number. If not, then just call USPS and give them the number and see where it was originally supposed to be sent.

If he wrote the wrong address, it's his fault. If he didn't, then it's their fault.

Atleast your tracking number is working.

I'm waiting on a sub that shipped out the 16th, and it still says it was accepted the to main center, in the same state it was leaving.

This happened to me once. I had two boxes coming from someone and one of them showed progress while the other stayed put. They both arrived at the same time and for some reason it just never tracked its movement until it was confirmed delivered.

It wouldn't take two days to go from Honolulu to Honolulu.

USPS probably got it mixed up. The seller seems like he is trying to help you get it resolved. Just call USPS tomorrow and tell them about it.

Is this through UPS?

Cause I am waiting on some subs I bought from a well respected seller on here. I payed on the 2nd. He said the subs were sent back to him from fed-ex because fed-ex typed the addy wrong. I didnt get a tracking then. Then he said that his bro was sending them out. Turns out that his bro didnt. I now have tracking info from UPS. He said he sent them on tuesday but the ups tracking hasnt updated at all. It just says that the billing info has been received.
