These arent your typical USB network adapters, they have a built in wifi hotspot detector(so you can scan for hotspots anywhere) and 512mb of built in memory which I use to store the drivers for whatever pc I am building/rebuilding
You could even install Linux on one and run a pc just using the adapter, which I havent tried yet, but it is doable
